Payment system iDEAL acquired

The European banking consortium EPI has acquired iDEAL. Previously, this payment system was owned by Currence, a Dutch banking consortium that included banks like ING, Rabobank, and ABN Amro. The new system EPI will be working with is called Wero, which will first be rolled out in Belgium, France, and Germany, after which the term 'iDEAL' will also disappear in the Netherlands.
